Housekeeping

Jumping in. Bulletin board at Swanson Pool 1985-1986: Graphics: MGH.

Duck: Derm doc still treating Duck as if the itchies were a nervous condition. He’s reacting very badly to the Prozac. And too, now we know why he has clean clothes every night and loses his pressure stockings. He gets ready for bed by undressing and hanging up his clothes, taking off his leg bag, and taking off and throwing away his bloody pressure stockings. Did we say that leaving the catheter in wasn’t a good idea?

Me: Walked again, and laundered, and boxed up the journals, and, and, and……and I like days like that. Need to swim this week.

G: Walked and played on his computer with a soupcon of more laundry.

Work: Padre’s 2008 Schedule. We only have to work 77 out of 84 games this year. Wow.
It’s next project time. But first……..always there’s a but first. But first I need to clean up after the last project. Clean up not just in terms of the real world, but my computer needs some housekeeping.

My Snapfish files are cacophony. Duplicates here, dancing in the rain there. My clothes piles are growing. Storage, trip, and wear are intruding on the computer space. I’m not mentioning the sewing space.

Sewing. That’s the next project.

Was this my second quilt? Third? It’s not very well done. It’s filled with love tho. I’ve made a number of quilts since then. Then too, there were all those years of cutting other’s fabrics.

This next one was going to be a Transportation Quilt. I confess. I’ve been dithering about it. I don’t like that first block I completed, and the next blocks have been sitting on the sewing table untouched all the time I have been scanning journal pages.

I’m not handling failure well right now. Perhaps the cooking failures, something I was an expert at long in the past, got to me. Last weeks foods were good. So far we seem back on the diet and back on the non-failing food stuffs. Perhaps I need to take another look at that first block.

  1. I think about making quilts all the time, but I've only made one so far, twenty years ago when my grandson was born. I've been collecting old T-shirts that I'm planning to cut up for a quilt. I'll get to it, some day.

  2. Have you read any of the quilting murder mystery series? A museum curator, Seattle (I believe), quilts... Seems like a great undertaking. Good luck.

  3. You already know how I feel about quilts! Theme quilts are interesting though. Have you ever done those little miniature quilts? They're fairly fast at least. That's all I've completed so far.
