Oh, The Excitement

G panning gold on the back porch of the cottage, 1984. Doodle: MGH.

Duck: He ate the combined innards from two whole sandwiches in one slice of bread, carefully picked out the veggies from the soup, and drank all his milk with two brownies. Dinner is always an interesting adventure.

Me: Walked, swam, quilted, hurt. Took finished blocks to Duck’s home and folks loved em. Made a dry Noodles Florentine, and went to Sea Port Village with G who wanted a “Old Guys Rule” hat. Scoop of Ben And Jerry’s. Emmmmmmm.

Notes: I so appreciate them. Remember, I’m “shortly” of time now. I’ll be reading you, but I may not have time to note back.

G: Shopping, shopping, shopping. Saturday is grownup grandson for dinner. Sunday is a “Date Day 24 hours.”

Work: Padre’s 2008 Schedule.
…….or our version of it. We are hitting two estate sales in search of a trundle bed for Marie. Oh, the fun of window shopping at a sale that advertises “Pack Rat, whole house, junk.” That sort of thing just leads the two of us on.

Selfishly, I am looking for a particular Swiss garlic press. Mine died. I gave it away. Not one of it’s replacements has ever done the job properly, and we have tried more replacements that salt crystals. I want a heavy duty tool that, with it’s separate plunger, pushes a whole clove through a bunch of tiny holes. Right proper squished garlic, that is.

It’s a crisp 52 degrees Fahrenheit, and we are heading out soon. The mundane can wait until tomorrow. Just today.

  1. I'm still looking for that old garlic press, also. They don't make them the way they used to.

  2. I'm concerned about that arthritis pain, which is what the pain is from, am I right? Which kind of arthritis if you don't mind me asking. (I have two kinds, osteoarthritis and reumatoid. In the first, the more you move a joint the less the easier it is to move; in the other when inflamation sets in, the more you move it the worse it gets.) I feel for you in any case.
