Ten by Ten

Holiday pom poms on a stick.

Himself: A good day.

Herself: A good day here too.

Balance: Taking out the trash at a meeting.

I like these busy days….tho I get nothing of my own done.

Yes, I have had it with deserts, thank you. I don’t have to get any fatter.

I am fat. You should see the pictures from the office party. Arms as wide as an eight by eight, that’s me.

I’m thinking that it is of no use to diet just before going on a cruise. None at all. But it’s back to eating less when we get home. One quarter of the plate protein. One quarter of the plate in starch, and the rest of the plate in greens. Salads and veggies are us.

George reminds me that buying all new clothing is not a form of dieting. I love living with a man with a sense of humor.

  1. I am sure that your realize there is no such thing as a diet...that does not work. It has to be a live-it and it has to start now. I admit that this year my appetite has started to dwindle of its own accord and maybe that will help. Eat everything you want on the cruise...just small portions and not more often than three times a day.

  2. Beware of that quarter this and quarter that thing. That's relative to what? The best way to control weight is exactly what Tabor said. It's lifestyle that counts. When you eat out a lot, you have no way to know how much butter or sugar go into a food item and they have no vested interest in helping you get thin, they want it to taste good. Butter and/or sugar usually makes that happen to otherwise not so great dishes. Sorry if I sound preachy, but I've never believed in "dieting" because it forces you into a "reward" when that one is done, that is eat everything I couldn't when I was dieting. See saw. See saw. Enjoying your food in moderation is a good way to go.

  3. I should leave you all a note about diets. G and I agree....we are just altering our eating habits back to where they were. Losing his job has been very stressful, and we have been letting it all go and eating over it. Darn it.
