A Gift from the Gods

A basket for books next to my chair, 2010.

Himself: Swam, went to CALJOBS web site, shopped and errands, cleaned the new/used vacuum cleaner….the repair man said, “There’s something to be said for simplicity.”

Herself:…and too , the Open Diary Day Tripper. Ditto…laughing at him for buying a sixties Eureka vacuum when our antique Hoover only needed one clip. We will give Lessa the Hoover once we fix the broken clip. Fixed a sixties dinner….and dozed in public.

A blog you might like: A Brit in Tennessee: surrounded by green and growing things to delight.

Reading: That 1920’s Fannie Merritt Farmer Boston Cooking School Cook Book you see in the basket as well as the latest Food Magazine. I finished that first “Miss Julia” you see sitting under the FMFBCSCB.

Gratitude: Don and G….and today I get my crown.

G made the call this morning. Wimp, I am, I let him.

High winds. Cold air. Massive dust and diesel exhaust from construction at the Y? We will stay home today….then go to the dentist. Lazy me; I can so easily can do this too. Yesterday after exercising, I was so tired I crawled through my day only to fall asleep at my computer after dinner.

G said I snored.

Calls from friends yesterday, Lenora dropped in with exquisite dried flowers that exactly matched the new bath, all topped off with a small 1960’s dinner of casserole, broccoli, salad, and chocolate Sunday. We need to reduce the size of the Sunday’s….of course. I promise…if he really has a job, we will go back on WW.

We even went to bed early. He too was dozing watching his after dinner shows though he would never admit to snoring. As a gift from the gods, we even got a full 8 hours sleep.

  3. I must tell you the photograph is simply tantalizing! Would you believe I have an even bigger basket of books and reading material by my easy chair? Problem is, I'm only able to read the title of the one mentioned: love the title. what bibliophiles we both are!!
