Monday Lite

  • Dressing for the speaker’s meeting last night, I changed purses. I didn’t want to wear baby blue with my dark green pants, I wanted a medium brown. It was heavy when it should have been empty….and there was my camera filled with happy flower pictures. Oh, there was joy in Mudville last night.

  • More joy in LA too. Mikey’s PET scans and CAT scans didn’t agree. It appears that PET scans see heat as glowing. Not only are cancer cells seen as heat, so are injuries. Mikey’s lymph nodes, tho enlarged, are not glowing. Mikey with the assistance of two other men had lifted a heavy refrigerator over a counter on the previous day. His scapula, ribs, and hip are all glowing in the dark. He will know more today, and next week he has appointments at UC Norris Cancer Center and The City of Hope.

  • I am so very proud of Lessa for tackling her demons head on. Call your therapist and your sponsor, I suggested. She said she will before she heads back into the disaster that used to be her home, the disaster where she was battered to a pulp.

  • Me? Eliminating caffeine has cut out the constant mild nausea which has been with me for years. I miss my coffee, and even more I miss my Diet Cokes. Oh well; I’ll live with decaf. But I did have a bout of dizzyness at Amvets and at the Cancer Society this last week. Not the dust, I think, but the Febreeze that all thrift stores use to cover bad smells. Just a thought as nothing else bothered me all week. Then again, thinking isn’t always a good idea.

  1. Good luck with Mikey's tests -it all sounds familiar with here. I don't think he should really be lifting heavy stuff. I know MTL is forbidden as am I - but I make exceptions for me or nothing would get done.
I once felt really bad after three diet cokes and am a total decaff. Hope you get to like it:)
    Those roses are a joy.

  2. Hi – I read your comment in Time goes by. My husband should not drink coffee either his heart doctor said. I tried different brands of decaf coffee and finally found one, online and cheaper, which is decaf expresso. This is what we use and you can’t tell the difference. During the day he used to drink iced tea. I now make tea by mixing 4 tea bags of peach tea and 2 bags of decaf tea then when it is done I add some mint leaves. It is really tasty.

  3. A hopeful week, camera find, better news for Mikey. Febreeze does me in too, and dryer softner, and the like. I sometimes think our bodies are so taxed with all the chemicals coming at us that they just lose the ability to cope.

    Beautiful flowers.

  6. That camera has been missing for so long I am sure you gave up! It is a good thing you are cleaning out your spaces, less places to loose things. I don't really notice the diff between caf and decaf, but I do try to limit my consumption of both.
