Creating Albums and Blogs

On our way to ride the Skunk Train, there was this sculptural display along a fence façade.

Now that the Geezer is employed, I felt free enough to order a few pictures from our last road trip up to San Francisco. I will stop in to Ross and buy a new album. I had thought to combine two road trips together under the same boards, but that would give a very sleazy end result.

Do I remember how to create these shadow images I use as backgrounds. Not really. I remember how to add the words, but I will have to experiment to rediscover how I faded out images. It's like reinventing my brain everytime I don't use something. I’m sure it must be a simple thing. If I could do it in 2008, I can do it now.

One page from the 2008 Comptche road trip album.

My problem these days is that if I don’t use it, I lose it.

We visited with our friends Kay and Davon in Comptche that visit, and only this month was I reminded of their presence in our lives a bit more forcibly than usual. You see, Kay reads my OD blog “Day Tripper.” Which I love. A scammer hit that blog last week, and I with my fuzzy memory told the help desk that I had porn notes. Nothing we can do, they told me…..you have to make your blog private so the porn folks can’t get to you.

If I do that, Kay and others cannot find me either.

I’ve made the decision to leave my blog open and let the porn fall where it may. I apologize in advance. Let’s hope I don’t forget how it got there a second time.

  1. Thanks for the visual treat first thing today, especially the "sculptural" first one. Comforting to know I'm not the only constant relearner out there. At least we can relearn.

  2. I have to relearn stuff I could do last week, let alone 2 years ago.

    I don't understand the scam-porn thing, but I guess I don't need to.

    As always, great pics.

  3. Those faded backgrounds are really cool. A great way to present a picture.

  4. That is really a gorgeous shot, Maggie. I know just what you mean about forgetting things. My brother keeps trying to teach me stuff on Photoshop and I keep forgetting.

  5. By the way, if you set your blog to have the word verification, that usually gets rid of the porn scammers. I use the word verification every so often when I get hit and it seems to do the trick.

  6. I am so fascinated by your creativity. Are you creating individual photos or books of photos? I love the artistic approach! I want to do this, but don't know where to begin.

  7. About re-learning: an emphatic me too! As usual, great photographs.
Btw, how did you learn about the porn/spam?

  8. Would moderating help with the porn stuff? Of course, you'd still be privy to it, but you could block it.
I love the sculpture, but I love your background photo more! How did you do that???? When you re-discover, let me know.
