Some Days....

…are really good ones.

They grow up. Mohave and Aaron. Now he is in Afghanistan, and she is in High School. 1998.

Yesterday and Today
Himself: “My day was a good day,” he told me. He only totaled out one car.

Herself: I got a lot done…with pauses. Sewed the first strip of the quilt. I can’t tell if it is straight, but I alternated directions so it might possibly be. Actually read everybody’s blog but didn’t have time to always leave a note. Mea Culpa.

Purelandmountain.com offers the latest news from Japan on days he isn’t fighting his local fauna. Very frightening new news.

I woke this morning feeling really well. Clear. Smiling. Not coughing. I slept like a rock all night, and perhaps that’s a contributing factor. No getting up for the bathroom at two. Sometimes, after two colds in a row, not only do you feel vastly overmedicated, you begin to think it will never end. When you begin to reduce the meds, everything comes back. Sometimes it doesn’t end either.

I bought that brace for my left hand and did sign up for a personal trainer.

Then to bring myself down to earth, I finished reading Sally Brady’s book about her marriage, “A Box of Darkness.” What seemed perfection was really a husband with two separate lives well compaartmentalized lubricated by alcohol.

I worked hard on a sonnet about excuses.

Today you can find me in the pool, at the Cancer Society, and early for an awards ceremony at our local High School where a brilliant granddaughter is getting an award. I’m glad to be invited.

  4. Hope the entire day turned out very well. Sounds like you might be on the road to recovery at last. I once had a sinus infection and had to take meds for 30 days....I was so sick and the first time I didn't have to take a pill...I instantly felt so much better.....

  5. Still reading you everyday even though I am not posting right now. Hope your cold disappears - Mine has lasted three weeks and finally seems to be leaving. Seattle is basking in rare sunshine so things are looking up. Your busyness inspire me to engage in the everyday and make it special.

  6. How proud you must be of those playful children growing up and taking on great responsibilities. Glad to hear you feel better today. May it be so tomorrow as well.
