Oh, Silly Me

………………………………Oh, Silly Me

………………………………From my most comfortable chair, I fuss with
………………………………my living room, the art, a chair, the rug…
………………………………in my head…in my dreams, until I find
………………………………myself moving pictures hither and yon

………………………………in the sunshine of this quiet day. Oh,
………………………………Silly me. Liking it the way it is
………………………………does not preclude me from fussing with it,
………………………………taking art from here and adding color

………………………………there, stirring the whole house round till finding
………………………………just the right thing for just another spot
………………………………leaves me feeling at ease, cosseted, till,
………………………………I notice those new towels brought home for

………………………………the upstairs bathroom, that dark blue plate bought
………………………………for the kitchen. I laugh, Oh, silly me.

  2. I know that it has to be just "so" to make your creative mind feel at ease. I can fuss over the placement of one small thing until I finally find the magic spot for it.

  5. I just love how you're able to do this. I always feel like there's only one way to do the room. My husband would go nuts if I changed stuff around. I had a friend come in and suggest something and it made such a huge difference. I think I'll look at my rooms again while Art is gone. :-)

  6. Neat poem! I, too, fuss with my garden, what I'm going to cook, re-arranging furniture -- all from my comfy chair!
