Potlucks Are...

…acres of wonderful foods much of which the Geezer and I ate.

Definitely ate, and ate to the background music from The Pride festival across the canyon from us in the park.

The volunteers drove some of their best cars and trucks to the potluck. Yes, these are all drivers. We should have brought Grumpy, but he’s in our bad graces again.

We talked, schmoozed, and all had a grand time. Importantly to us, two camera experts sat near us and were able to tell us some things about the new camera we didn’t know. Told the Captain too.

Not only can we now use the Macro setting….and so can the Captain, we know gobs about the zoom features: up to 140 X, a 24 X 840 lens say the two camera geeks with whom we were sitting.

Yes, we all played with our cameras.

Yes too, we arrived for dinner with our friends, much later in the day, and discovered we had the wrong date. Today we are driving north to celebrate Lessa’s birthday, and we are going in Grumpy. He almost didn’t pass his smog test, and it was because he isn’t driven any more. Well, he will get driven today…and much more often in the next two years.

  3. Oh YES! I LOVE pot lucks! When we throw parties over here in Hawaii, it's almost always some kind of pot luck unless it's a funeral, wedding, special occasion.

  4. So glad to know there was such a fun event to let you enjoy the day and keep you minds off, hopefully, of the job situation. The food looks incredible.

  9. Yummy. Pot lucks can be great if you don't get food poisoning. Sorry to be negative, but I have had this problem one too many times to trust anything left out for long. Otherwise, it looks like you had a great time with food, cars, and friends with cameras. The forest in the last photo looks very familiar. I have been in a Eucalytus grove in SD that looks very much like this.
