Riding Ourselves

Before above, and in the middle of the sorting, same wall below.

After two days of getting rid of stuff, of taking everything off shelves, of working our tails off, we took one truck load to El Cajon, two truck loads to three thrift shops, and filled the truck bed a fourth time with fabrics.

The Geezer was a total grump about it all. I was a virago nattering back at him. He didn’t willingly give up things from his childhood, I didn’t willingly put up with an angry husband. We were a fine pair, Charlie Brown.

What’s left is the barrel chair, and a lady is coming to see about it today. On the same wall are the HO gauge trains. Yes, the nephews and nieces want them, yes too, one in middle California will drive down to pick up some, and the other who lives in OR wants to film the whole thing. My job will be to tell the Oregon Nephew that his brother will be here this coming weekend.

The pain in my leg was so great that I could not move much less walk anywhere by night fall. The cake was great tho.

  1. Oh, you obviously overdid. Your muscles will hurt for a while. But your conscience is clear.

One of the few things I regret about my husband is that I never forced him to get rid of anything. Now I have to do it by myself. And our oldest daughter is cut from the same cloth as her father.

  4. Some days it is all about the grumps.....A big job completed is a job well done and I'm sure both of you are glad of that.

  6. Looks a lot like our garage in Texas. When we moved to Oregon I refused to pay extra for a garage because I knew what would happen. If I can't find a place for something in our apartment it has to go live with someone else. These days less is better. Enough of that clutter collecting.

  7. Ours is so much worse. What an accomplishment to move so much out! I am afraid that I just don't have the energy or wherewithal for it. Maybe someday.......

  8. What a job! Looks terrific! You are inspiring me...but will my husband go for it? Maybe we'll wait until it cools off here in Phoenix. It's over 106 degrees now.
