I love this holiday. I love the caring, the love, the sharing, and as an artist, I love the color.
Today we are to run out and car shop with grandson Aaron. If he has the cash. Later I’ll decorate the tree….blue this year, again. G wants blue. I like letting G have his turn. Probably that blue tree from 2009 was the best ever, but I will try to equal it this year.
In years past, I would finish my finals and immediately start decorating the big tree we found at an estate sale. The harder the finals, the longer it would take to decorate the tree. As the tree biodegraded, the time it took to decorate took even longer because I had to fill in the empty spots with balls.
I really miss having the big tree, but I do not miss the time it took to decorate it. Perhaps this year I will have the blue tree done in one evening over a cup of hot tea with kibitzing from the Geezer. He’s a good kibitzer, and sometimes he even helps….thank you dear Geezer.
The blue tree and the red tree both look lovely, Mage. Love them both!
ReplyDeleteThat blue tree is gorgeous. As I pointed out in the Thanksgiving conversations, I have no business critizing, because I don't do Christmas trees. (I wasn't brought up to do them.)
ReplyDeleteBut the absolutely most beautiful tree I ever saw was a white one. The subject came up because the people I was speaking with like white trees with white lights. And the white tree I remember was decorated with blue balls, just that. It was illuminated from the bottom with blue spotlights.
Oh, did I mention that I love blue? May you experience all the special enjoyment of the preparations.
I'm sure whatever color you use this year; it will be stunning. I like red...usually have santas and angels on our tree. This year, however, we are not having a tree (at least not so far) sine we are in the RV. Next year, we will bring our little fiber optic tree down here.
ReplyDeleteI like that red color tree although the blue is great too. That bird at the top is wonderful. I'd love to find something like that (so long as it's not a pigeon). Our tree is just a mish mosh of whatever decoration we have. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me that you have enough decorations to choose from! Yet, one year you did show us photos of all your boxes of Xmas bobbles... amazing.
