Hope

Newly build Tiffany lamp knock off….lighting our way into the new year.

No resolutions for the new year. Not me.

Personally I have hope but not firm, set in mud resolutions that will wash away with the first rain cloud. Hope that I can do better on WW this year than last. Hope that I can drag my watercolors out of the truck bed and use them. Hope too that all of us stay healthy. Hope that we all have food, clothing and a roof over all our heads that we need. Hope that we all find something to smile about. Those are good starts.

I refuse to get global in my thinking. I can pray too for food for the hungry and justice for the poor. I can pray for peace while admiring the beauty of our world.

Here…I’m going to try to keep my thinking local this year. Simple foods….local if I can do it. Recycled this or that…especially books like the wonderful mound of them the Captain delivered to the store yesterday. Keeping life simple and in the now always gives me hope.

I wish you all a lovely day filled with hope.

  1. Take care of yourself and your loved ones, and may others do the same. You do so much already, it's quite amazing.

As we say in Yiddish, a gut Yahr (a good year).

  2. Simple is best. I have never made a resolution in my life. Don't intend to start now.

  5. Love that lamp!!!

Hope? I gave it up for Lent years ago.

I don't make resolutions either. I'm such a cynic that if things work out in my favor, I'm just stunned, amazed, and grateful.

  6. I hope that when I visit Poolie in March, I have time to meet you. I feel like I have a friend that I haven't seen in a long time!

  11. A sensible list of non-resolutions we could all adhere too. Good luck on that, and happy new year to you both!
