It was fun but slow at the Discovery shop yesterday. No great mountain of books to greet me, but with the discount hardbound books are selling again. That’s cheering. Joan worked hard pricing the books that came in since last Wednesday, and I filled all the gaps in the shelves. Few donations came in while I was there tho, and I am sure that’s reflected in other thrift stores also.
I wasn’t there for the robbery tho.
Hearsay only is that a robber cut the electricity to the building, and robbed the bank at the corner. As a couple of our volunteers rounded to corner to check if FedEx had lost power too, the robber ran through them. The boss wasn’t very pleased as we had to close the store until we got power back.
All in all a quiet day with baked potatoe, iceberg wedge salad with mock blue cheese dressing and dozing in front of the TV by nine thirty.
Holy crap! Glad everyone was okay!
ReplyDeleteHaha! You're too funny! What a life, huh?
ReplyDeleteThat photo is almost obscene. Puts me in mind of the ship wreck in Italy. These must be some of the bodies washed up on shore. Dianne
ReplyDeletethat photo was really an eye catcher! Glad the shop wasn't involved with the robbery... and now I am so hungry for a baked potato.....

ReplyDeleteDid they catch'em? Holy cow.
ReplyDeleteClose call and glad you missed that close call! GREAT PHOTO...love it!
ReplyDeleteWe have a new charity shop and their books are excellent. I return them when I have read them so they can sell them again.
ReplyDeleteThose dummies are alarmingly real at first glance.
A robbery? Good grief! This photo is really quite artistic and grabs you right away. Beautifully done. It makes a statement. I'm not sure what the statement is, but it makes you think.
ReplyDeleteI think the statement id "if you're a dummy like me you really should hire an assistant to keep your pants pulled up!"
