Red Cabbage

I actually made a good dent in my projects yesterday. Tax piles sit neatly clipped and in order. I’ll let G run the totals, but I feel really good about getting so much done.

I also delved into the five pieces of writing that I’ve done on the National Socialism art, architecture, ships, and individual projects. The writing definitely relaxes and improves. The photo choices are good, but the design for the web not a chapbook. I have my doubts that they will translate well into the smaller chapbook format. I’m printing out one of each in the series, and I will take them to the Poetry Group with me tomorrow.

Unfortunately, both G and I struggled for a very long time last night with my photoshop. It didn’t want to work right no matter what we did. This morning, it looks a little funny, but it’s working again. Neither of us thought to restart the computer.

Best of all, I got the laundry done, a simple dinner made, and the double NCIS shows watched. Boy, I didn’t like the new character on NCIS LA. Obviously the character works well if I have such a visceral negative reaction.

Red Cabbage and Kielbasa

I small package turkey kielbasa - cut into slices
1/2 head red cabbage - roughly chopped
1 apple cored and sliced
1 onion thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon ginger
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil or less
1/4 cup broth or water

Sauté the kielbasa in the oil till brown. Add the ginger, stir, then add cabbage, apple, onion, and heat through stirring well. Finally, add the broth, vinegar, and kielbasa, bring to a boil, stir, cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. I’ll look up where I got this after I swim.

  1. You sound much better than I at getting things done. One of my New Year's resolutions (yes, I do make them) was to begin a list of the stuff I need to do this year! No list yet.

  4. I was thrown off a bit by the title of the blog followed by the bright pink bras.....and no mention of the bright pink bras in your blog...but I am sure it made complete sense to you. LOL

  5. Once again I am in awe of your energy. I am also envious of your organized tax receipts. Ours sit in an enormous pile on David's desk. One more task to sort out. Dianne

  8. This photo will be one for the record books soon. Did you hear? Liz Claiborne is changing their name...something to do with the sale to J.C. Penney's. Boy how things change. Nice pink bras, but I still like flesh color so I can look naked!

  9. Oh, and yes, your writing is wonderful! Such an economy in words but say so much! Something I definitely need to practice.
