Stream of Conciousness

Used everything, 2012.

“Help,” I said.  “I can’t reach my foot this morning.”

“Oh,” he said as he turned around from his computer, “It’s defeating.”

Some mornings are like that.  Ya gotta laugh.

On my mad Monday morning errand run yesterday, I stopped at Aaron Brothers and bought a couple of permanent pens.  I bought an acid free pad for drawing too.  My thought is that if Miles could keep drawing right to the end with his Parkenson’s, I could try drawing again too.  My hands often make jerky motions, but maybe I can make that a part of a new style.  We’ll see.

I kept all my art supplies but the paint.  I have a fully supplied art store down there in the garage to go with the new, permanent pens.  I have found a taker for the fabrics tho.  I love the end result of my quilting, but doing it doesn’t make my maths any better.  I hate the struggle, and sometimes I will hide from a half finished quilt for a year or more.  Quilting was Dr. Harriette’s thing not mine.  This new lady I met teaches sewing and has students who can’t afford fabrics.  She knows other students who can’t afford fabric who sew through the Fordham Street School classes.

G is off to Carlsbad to meet with a new client for his company.  I’ve planned a simple dinner and will wait here working on a poem for Thursday.  Maybe I’ll doodle too.  Laughing.

  1. You are playing it forward...giving the fabrics to people who will appreciate them. Hope the return to Art helps you sort out all the stuff in your head. Sounds like you have a lot of projects on your mind. Good luck with the doodling and the poems.

  3. Oooooooooh yes...draw more in whatever style..bless the results. Bless us by sharing! I am always inspired by your energy for projects, art, thrifting, decorating, mysteries, cookbooks, and people. I look forward to your photos..loved today's. So good to know what doesn't feed you and let it go. And just think of the pleasure for the recipients of your materials. Though I love the pun, there is no way you can be defeated. Have a great day!

  6. I gave all my fabric, including some handed along to me from my Mom to my oldest granddaughter. Sometimes I miss sewing. As for drawing, I tried it and was halfway decent I thought, but my Mom decided my sister was the artist, so I studied maths.

Yesterday, I asked David to pick up two prescriptions. Somehow he thought I said two ears of corn. Okay, I know I have been sending him to the grocery store a lot, but where were HIS ears.

  9. I've just about decided to get rid of most of my fabric for quilts "someday" projects. Any suggestions of organizations to offer them to?
