22: Thanksgiving

Leaning Towers:  My Grandma Mary got this version of the recipe at her bridge club, and it’s become a family favorite.  Whip cream without sugar, and place a spoonful  on the Nabisco Old Fashioned Chocolate Wafers.  Repeat until you have a tower.  Chill 24 hours before serving.  Warning:  Very addictive.

I woke this morning saying thank you for everything.  Small things: I’m thankful to be waving my legs in a bed big enough so I can’t hang over the end.  Bigger things: I’m grateful for a G in my life who feels pretty good today.  Giant things:  I’m grateful for life.  Everything around me is a gift I am thankful for this day…among them you all.

May you have a wonderful day filled with gratitude’s large or small.

  • Keeping those on the east coast in my thoughts and donating where it will count.
  • Himself:  Feeling pretty good this day.
  • Herself:  Blurry but done with the Leaning Towers and moving on to the Auntie Pat’s Fruit Salad.
  • Reading:  Nothing at this moment.
  • Balance:  Gratitude.
  • Memories of Grandma’s Thanksgivings.

    1. Oh my, those whipped cream delights are calling my name.
I'm grateful that I finally rewrote my NANO book. Just have to re-edit and then submit. Changed a huge amount of it because a family member took offense that it was too close to HER life I was writing about....even thought she didn't even read the manuscript I first wrote. So I rewrote it. Shhh, it's a secret!

    4. Oh yum.. they remind me of what my aunt used to do with chocolate wafers and whipped cream. Something similar to what you have here only horizontal in two rows.. chilled (softened) and then cut on the diagonal so it looked like layer cake. Delicious. I hope you and yours had a lovely day.
