In the Blink of an Eye

Wedding ring, thrift store find.  This quilt took time to make.

Time does move too fast as you get older.  As a kid, I only noticed time when I couldn’t do my homework.  In my middle years, I never noticed time at all.  Now it goes by way too fast.  Sometimes I notice every second as it flees at light speed, other times a month goes by and I only notice when a new one starts.

Time, a blink of an eye for daughter Lessa who will be graduating with a double AA degree.  She will be moving out of her tiny cottage into a 2 bedroom apartment also.  Overcoming her fears.  Bravo.  From drunk and living in a car to a person with two degrees and a future.  This time has seemed to have flown by so very fast for her from my perspective.

Time, for the Geezer it too has gone by at light speed.  There has been a few pauses.  I remember the one year he couldn’t find a job at all.  At the start of the Iran war, there wasn’t a job to be had.  He ended up driving a tow truck…which has proved a very useful bit of knowledge.  Who knew.  He loves his new job.  I know he will vanish into it for a while…he does that.

Me?  I keep thinking we should have bought a one story cottage.

  • Keeping those on the east coast in my thoughts.
  • Himself:  Gym then home for his last day on the old job.
  • Herself:  No gym.
  • Work as a sorter today.
  • Reading:  Bio of Fred Astaire.
  • Balance:  Meeting tonight.  Maybe no fat ice cream for desert?  We will have to count the points.

    1. One story cottage sounds good to me too. Yes time flies when you're having fun. Congratulations to Lessa. Good for her. Dianne
