Out
of great messes comes a home.
The
Geezer and a neighbor get ready to hang the stained glass window.
Manhandling
it up.
Wrassleing
it onto its hooks.
Loading
up the truck for a trip to Lessa’s house.
Old
art for a new home. Gotta have art.
The
Geezer painted the white and the terra cotta.
Today
I hung art on the fresh walls and emptied boxes.
Tomorrow
I work and swim then do more tchotchkes in the living room….oh, so very many.
Keeping those on the east coast in my
thoughts.
Himself: Working his tail off so he can make
time to help unpack. Got rid of two
boxes of clothes and one of socks. NCIS
tonight.
Herself: Another two boxes of books out the
door. ALL the boxes in the living room done too. Moved all the big furniture pieces.
Reading: Nothing at this exact moment.
What is the “Quieter
Home Program”: The Airport authority
is installing new triple pained windows, new doors, and HVAC for those of us
who live under the flight path. We will
have deliciously quiet lives but cannot sue if they crash into us. Free.
They have 15 days to do this.
Balance: Going out to dinner…simple food.
Congratulations! You and G are making great progress.
ReplyDeleteBit by bit, but heavens, what a chore this has been! It is like moving home without the luxury of moving things into an empty house. I admire your tenacity.
ReplyDeleteIt's really coming together. I like the white and terra cotta.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, you are working your tails off on this project. You must be either feeling good or achey all over. Dianne
ReplyDeletePS Love that terracotta paint.
You have quite an artist's eye. Even with the boxes your home looks welcoming and beautiful. Glad it will be more comfortable as well.
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks fabulous! You have such an artistic eye, Mage. I'd love to have you help us with decorating.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see how the stained glass looks once it's hung up.
