Funny

I wrote two pieces for the writing group in the midst of my chaos.  I reread both yesterday and was much surprised to find that they are pretty good.  The non-fiction work is pretty cynical.  I was embarrassed to discover that.  Then again, I was pretty depressed when I wrote it.

I mentioned to one of the writing group that swims with me in the mornings that it was good tho cynical.  Funny too.

“You are a funny lady,” she said.

That made me laugh.

Two family members recently lost jobs because of their cynicism.  I really don’t want to foster any more enthusiasm for cynicism around here.

Then again, that piece is funny.

  • Keeping those on the east coast in my thoughts.
  • Himself:  Still working the audit que till next Wednesday.
  • Herself:  Was thinking we could organize the garage this hot and sticky weekend.
  • Reading:  Still on the post WWII Brit book.  It says it is funny, but it isn’t.
  • Balance:  Greek yogurt and warm water in the pool.

    2. Guess the "piles" and clutter are still on your mind. Glad you were able to create two poems in any case.

    3. You certainly get a lot done in so little time.

    4. I think that one of the best feelings in the world is when you find and re-read a piece you wrote long ago and recognize it as good, even have a momentary "who wrote that" moment. Congratulations. You are a funny lady, and cynicism in control can be a good thing.
