At the Fair: Upstairs in Home-Arts

Marvelous stuff up in the Home Arts  section.  I appreciate that they have plastic or glass in front of the entries, but I couldn’t get a glare free shot.

This appliqued quilt won best of the best….and it’s amazing.

When they first began combining entries, I was very upset.  Now days, I pass everything very slowly to see as much as I can see.

You knew I would like this one for the colors, but I also like it for the quality of the work.

Matchsticks.  Yes.

Another appliqued quilt, another well-deserved blue ribbon.

I love this section.  I admire the men and women who make these crafts from sewing and quilting, lace making, to ceramics and furniture decoration.  That chair is certainly a winner in my mind.

Life is Really in the Footnotes:

  • Us:  Out to breakfast, Ross Dress for less for a belt for me, worked on costumes, simple dinner, he meeting, me reading and “60 Minutes.”

  • Reading:  Finished the new mystery.

  • Balance:  He’s taking me to the first of two blood draws for my surgery.

    1. Pretty quilts. I almost expected to see an old treadle Singer machine. 8)

You're such a kid; my doctor says I can have blood drawn at home, which was a helluva lot simplelr.

    2. Love the home-arts at our fair too. Usually there's a full table of women tatting. Beautiful but beyond me.

    3. Are you having blood drawn for transfusion purposes? I love the quilts. The blue ribbon winner 6th from the top photo is my favorite. Love the appliques..especially the blue flower. Take care. Thinking about you. Love, Dianne
