Mikey

Michael Kramer and his wife Bee, 2012.

Mikey died yesterday.  Not from the lung cancer that he had battled for so long, but from septic colitis.  We will all miss his wicked sense of humor, his caring, his sharpness, his imagination, and his ability to adapt.  Bee is not alone.  Her sisters are with her, Mikey’s step sister is with her, we are all with her in spirit.

Michael Kramer at the Smithsoniann Castle, 2012.

Life is Really in the Footnotes:
  • Himself:  He has handrails up in the hall, stairs, and bathroom upstairs.  He got potty’s installed, and he still seems to have a sense of humor as I settle in to life in a three story condo with some difficulty.
  • Herself:  The last thing I did before leaving the nursing home was break or crack a toe.  Did I say something about making walking more difficult.  G has ordered a walker with a seat so I can meander by myself.  Otherwize I am somewhat slowed down from where I wanted to be.  I wish I could be in LA with Bee in her 5 story house.
  • Reading:  Another Cadell.
  • Balance:  G made the bed.

    2. Thinking of you in the loss of a dear friend and Bee in her loss of a soulmate.

Sounds like you have a good partner in recovery. Sorry about the toe setback.

    3. Such a haunting feeling to lose a dear friend. We lose more each day as we age and we can only hang on as best we can.

    5. I can see by Mikey's warm smile that he had a kind heart. I'm so sorry for this sad time you are all having to bear.
