Studioing

Bobbie DC.

I’m off for a few days to LA, to the Valley, to help Bobbie arrange her studio space.  I’m leaving the Great Geezer all by himself….and interesting premise.

Now that she has an agent in New York and the promise of shows there, she needs a viable studio space.  She really should take over the largest room in her home, but she is unwilling to give up either her lovely bedroom or her dramatic dining room.  I don’t blame her.

She lives in a stunning home that rambles it’s small rooms up the side of a hill.  She can’t use the garage as it is a splendid space built into the side of the hill and unheated and without air.  She can’t use the rental unit as it is a broken up 400 square foot space.  The three small rooms that she will be using as her studio are on separate floors.  Art supplies and painting room in one….why?  Because the bookcase is too big to live in any other room.  Storage will be in another room, and in the last space will be the layout and drawing areas.

I’ll be going up to ostensibly help move things about.  In reality, I’m there to listen.

  4. Well, if I wanted my space to be beautifully and efficiently designed, and I could "phoneafriend" it would be you! Friendships, enduring ones, are always layered with meaning and with shared experiences. Counting friends as blessings makes us rich. Knowing your visit will be perfect.
