Viewing Ourselves from a Different Angle

Brand new Life Guard Unit at the Auto Show. 2014.

It’s been a beautiful week.  Blue skies.  Brisk winds here at the coast.  Clear colors everywhere.

Last weekend the Great Geezer and I took a ride around Mission Bay.  When we go out for a drive, we always discover acres of our local world that we have never seen.  G had never been out to Quivera Basin where the Lifeguard Headquarters are.  I had been only once despite having been with the Lifeguards pushing a broom for almost eight years.

Yesterday I went with G to the Auto Show at the Convention center.  The brand new Toyota lifeguard truck was one of the first things I saw.  Donated after this show.  I’m a rather rabid supporter of our local lifeguards, and this is a truly wonderful gesture.  I remember when we had only a very few rusted out Fords.

I didn’t see any rust on either day.  The rust seems all gone from my seams too.

  • Keeping those on the east coast in my thoughts.
  • Himself:  At work as an auditor today.
  • Herself:  Headed in to help with the yearly inventory shorty.

  • Balance:  Feeling clear.

    1. Both my children worked as life guards when they were younger. It's not so easy as it seems. Sounds like you started your year happily.

    2. I love the bay. Used to live in Bay Park when I first moved here.

    3. Wow, nice digs for the lifeguards. Glad to see it. Dealing with the public requires some support.

    4. A day without rust and a clear sky. What could anyone ask for?

    5. You swept with the lifeguards? Another interesting anecdote. You drop these like cookies crumbs.

    6. I'm reminded of my childhood when a ride in the car was a pleasant treat.

You speak a lot of charity/giving. Good for you! May the blessings be returned back to you. And the Geeezer, too.

Thank you for your notes on my blog while I was too busy to blog in December. It meant a lot to me to be thought of. :)
