We are off in Grumpy to the far off mesa of Otay inland from
Chula Vista. G’s found two junque yards
that might have a rim for the Toyota.
From there to Costco to see if the tire is covered under warrantee. The Street emergency dispatcher told us there
is also a claims line. Once we have the
totals, we will call them.
1345: We set out
bright and early. Finding the junk yards
was easy, but the first, second, and third didn’t have a 2005 Toyota Corolla rim. Just down the road, the brand new, fancy
Toyota dealer didn’t have one either.
How really strange.
Home beckoned, and there G made a few more phone calls and
was referred by the PB dealership to the Lemon Grove dealership. They had one.
They held it for us. Off we went
again. From there to Costco, not only
was the tire covered under warrantee, but since it was discontinued we got a
second tire free…for the first we paid $37.00.
Yes, we had pizza for lunch.
Yes, we are home taking a break in an unmoving home. Yes, shortly we will go down and sort through
the horrible mess that came out of the Toyota’s trunk.
Oh, it was bad in there.
We asked ourselves, do we really need forty cloth shopping bags?
Sorry I've been MIA!!! My blog gt hijacked! I hope you will come visit my new home at Word Press. Glad to see that you're having fun!!!!
ReplyDeletePoor grumpy, left outside while you party. The problem with long books....they are long. Yes, the sun is shining here in Mudville. Dianne
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your rim search.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! You should see the back of our Prius. It's got tons of reusable bags too. Worse, we often forget to bring them into the store.
ReplyDeleteYou had a great day!!!
Still laughing at the cloth shopping bags. David's car looks like the warehouse of a rummage sale. Mine is slightly better.
ReplyDeleteI have been MIA and had to catch up on the rim saga. Glad you are both okay and that the warranty was still good, plus a deal on a second tire.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, CostCo stands behind their products. Great news.
ReplyDeleteI love productive days like that.
