The things that make up my life today.

He needs a haircut.  Really.  I’ll take a book and go along for the ride.  We measured my leg for a compression legging that will, hopefully reduce the water retention, the edema, in my right thigh.  It’s expensive, but it will be worth it in the end.  I found out what I need to know to take a computer written ditty to FedEX too.  We have progress on all fronts here.

The biggie that impacts George today is a 5K Run/Walk called “Finish Chelsea’s Run.”  The thousands of participants will be running right by where G volunteers on Saturday afternoons.  Here’s a map link to the course. The Automotive Museum is on the West side of the Pan American Plaza. The Chelsea's Light Foundation page tells us that Chelsea King was an avid cross country runner, a gifted student and musician, a loving daughter and sister, at 17 Chelsea was well on her way to realizing her dreams. Pursuing one of her passions, Chelsea went on a training run after school on the trails at Lake Hodges not far from her Poway, California home on February 25, 2010.

It took authorities five days to find her body.  John Gardener was a sex offender that had been released early.  He killed Amber Dubois in 2009 then Chelsea King in 2010.  Today thousands of participants run in hopes their footprints will help change the way we treat sexual predators in any community.

Does it matter if George can get to the museum?  I don’t think so.

  2. I hope the run was successful. It's a good way to do something positive regarding a tragedy.
Kudos to G. on being the sole subrogation person. As I have told you before, I loved subrogation when I was an insurance adjuster.
Loved that ornate mirror you photographed the other day too.

  3. The guy in the lead is macho. He doesn't need a helmet.

  4. I remember those murders. Why I have no sympathy for early release done to save a few dollars.

    Hope the compression bandage works.

  5. It is always about the money. Even this conflagrated daylight savings time is about the money! Can you tell I want myhour back?

  6. Sad to read about that sex predator. Good that there is a race like this one.

  8. Oh my gosh! That's just horrible! They let him out early?

Art and Tif used to run in the Race Against Hate Run for Ricky Brydsong who was killed by a white supremacist while he was walking with his children in Illinois.

I hope the runs keep focusing on the need for change.
