The skies are June
Gloomish, and the weather is damp. No
rain, but there’s a hurricane down south.
The locals are used to this, but
the poor tourists are not. It’s the
perfect weather to go to the County Fair tomorrow. Critters and quilts, cookies and pig races,
the Midway and the Firemen’s Demolition Derby all tempt us. G and
I will be at the derby for a goodly hunk of the day. It’s a good way to support our local firemen.
Next week we will be
back. More quilts and Midway, but that
week we are working as volunteers. That’s
fun too.
I'd be there except for the couple thousand miles that separates us.
ReplyDeleteReally gloomy and cool here. Temps in the 50s and 60s. But this is Maryland and in a few days we'll have 90° temps with matching humidity. :)
Wave at everyone at the fair for me. I just can't go there anymore. I think it's the crowds.
ReplyDeletenothing better than a good demolition derby.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous. I love county fairs with all the animals, quilt entries, vegetables, etc. on display.
ReplyDeleteI have not been to a really good fair in a while. Ours seem smallish to me. Weather here has been cold and wet for days, but that is soon to change as the summer sun burst forth as I write this post!
ReplyDeleteHave a good time. All I can think of is elephant ears.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very pretty there in that photo. I heard about the hurricane. I hope it dissipates to nothing.
ReplyDeleteThe county fair is fun, but I haven't been in years although its held about three blocks away. Enjoy!
