I like days where things
get accomplished. Since my allergies are
being tame today, I spent more time in the pool this morning. That always enervates me. Later, even small things like planning menus
or grocery shopping made me feel good.
Menus: Giada’s Pasta Primavera will do very well if
I cut back on the bow ties and oil just a bit on Wednesday. Today I will stir up Lady Bird Johnson’s Pedernales
River Chili perhaps with a pinch of minced onion and a grate or two of cheese
on top. Cook for four and eat twice…small
portions. I’ve become terribly lazy when
I’m in the kitchen.
I go to the Diabetic.org
site and follow their suggestions, believe it or not.
Later, I grabbed a book to
read over lunch then spread Harriet’s Star Quilt out for some inspiration. Finally some concrete ideas began to stir. 99 inches by 89 inches…..with a star border
top and bottom….solid borders all around that. Fabrics and quilting indicating fields in graduating colors…dark at the bottom. Lots of crows. After making a pattern for the star block that will fit my 99 inches, I’m feeling pretty good.
Spring seems to have brought you some renewal of spirit and energy. I wish I had that. Just got back from the car shop and now need a nap!
ReplyDeleteLovely inspiration. Art rocks! so do you!
ReplyDeleteMust check out the recipes at that site. Have a great day. It sounds like it will be a great one!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first year that I've experienced dizziness because of allergies. Not fun. I'm glad you're feeling well and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the diabetic recipes, even though I'm not diabetic...just trying to watch the carbs.
ReplyDeleteI was hungry to begin with. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm a lazy cook, too. But I tell myself I'm just efficient!
ReplyDeletemeasure twice, cut once
ReplyDeleteNice quilt idea! Can't wait to see it in progress... glad your allergies are better; I think we'll have rain before morning -- the wind keeps climbing then subsiding and I swore I could smell rain in the air a while ago. We're supposed to get rain tomorrow, but what do weathermen know? LOL
ReplyDeleteIt is great isn't it crossing things off a list. My cooking initiative has dwindled with age. I try to eat healthily with the minimum of effort - there is so much else to be done when you are one. Paper work grrrrrrh!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt incidentally looks great.
ReplyDeleteI do so admire you quilters.
