Margot kindly came down
and held my hand while we went through albums and old sketchbooks. We made the decision to keep all mother’s
albums…even if they were falling apart.
My albums looked pretty good. She
took all the unused albums home for her pictures. George came down and went through his shelves
again creating clear cut categories: house cleaning stuff, foods, car stuff,
painting stuff. Stuff indeed.
Sketchbooks? Many went in the recycle bin. We had two big empty boxes at the end, and we
took granddaughter Zoe and handholding daughter to lunch and a free trip to the
lighthouse. Last night I repeatedly
dreamed of losing the carefully built weaving blue notebook. Hours of those dreams. This morning I pulled it from the recycle bin
to discover it was green.
The back of the truck is
full, and the garage is as done as it is going to get.
You have passed a big milestone and now look at your past life with clearer eyes. This is Zen is it not? I would love one of your weavings!
ReplyDeleteI have only three or four that I kept. I'm sorry.
DeleteSuch a great job. You are making incredible progress!
ReplyDeleteCongtats! Your garage looks truly organized. Thats what I need -- one of my children to come for inspiration and assistance. Think thats unlikely anytime soon, but maybe I'll get motivated.
ReplyDeleteThat was a big accomplishment. An even beigger one might be to keep it under control. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteIt was either passing a milestone or a kidney stone!
ReplyDeleteThe garage looks really good.
It looks great! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThat looks totally awesome! I LOVE seeing things all organized.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's so hard to let go of family treasures. Good job on the garage!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)
DeleteNice that Margot came down to help go through things with you. I wish my sons could help me go through some of my 'stuff.' I imagine it will all be up to me to shed things -- hopefully before we are forced to through a downturn in health that forces us to give up this house. And again, hopefully, that won't be any time soon.
