Fragments of a Endless Birthday

The Star Of India with a gathering of fish.

It’s a quiet day today.  Nothing much to write about.  I tidied surfaces yesterday by throwing excess papers away.  Marta is moving the dust around now, and she can see the tops of things.

I wrote a vicious poem about an old friend after seeing a photo of his body on line.

I got a call from one daughter telling me she loved me.  I mean, what more could one want.

We are actively planning retirement.  We have been saving and dreaming, but it’s not the same thing as laying things out on the chopping block.

Once Marta is downstairs, I will go back to cleaning out my closet.  Do I really need five black coats?

It’s fall at last, and today the weather is cool and delightful.  Tomorrow will be in the 90’s.

Tonight we are eating out by the bay at the Boat House.  Once a month they offer a free dinner to the Birthday crowd.  Tonight is the September birthdays.  Dinner will be on my diet, but I confess to planning for desert.  That will be the last for a while.

Himself:  He’s doing Peter’s Audit queue this week.  “Who are you today,” I ask.  “Peter,” he tells me with a grin.

  • Herself:  Staying out of the housekeeper’s way this morning, sewing this afternoon.  Some days are better than others, and let us hope I can sew today.

  • 52 Week House Reorganization:  Back to my closet.  Did the bills and office papers.  Did my desktop.  Got the address book updated.  I inch along with this.

  • Reading:  Mayor.  The library has quite a few.

  • Gratitudes:  For the pool.

      1. We discovered early that it was a far, far better thing to have a housekeeper than a divorce. LOL
