Our Halloween décor is
still waiting for reinstallation. The
biggest advantage of living in a condo is that they have to fix the insides of
the walls. Replacement of fascia and the
top cap on one balcony revealed quite a termite mess. (Photos later.)
Not only was the façade of
the balcony crumbling, the 2X4’s on the inside of the walls had been reduced to powder. The main cross stringer that went into the
condo next door was crumbling also. The ceiling
below this balcony had showed water damage since we moved in. Now we know why.
To the tapping of hammers,
I will be cutting out pieces for the “weed blocks.” G is Auditing and Subrogating wrecks this
morning. Every once in a while he dashes
over to the balcony door with camera in hand.
I wore that costume last Halloween!
ReplyDeleteThey just did our every 6 months termite treatment/check. Very thankful for that. We replaced our patio cover with a non-wood one a few years ago when that one got infected. Glad we did. :)
Glad they have to fix it. Dang!
ReplyDeleteAnd the further they look at it, the more damage they find. The front is supposed to be new, and I can hardly wait till they dig in there. LOL
DeleteThose hungry termites. Pesky little creatures!
ReplyDeleteYep, so glad the outside is their issue to fix.
ReplyDeleteCool here too and we did some yard work.
ReplyDeleteId love a hot tub but thankful we don't have termites over here - as far as I know.
