Grateful Weekend

Taco’s for a 32nd Birthday....and boy were they good.

There are two Fridays this week…today and two days from now.  Today is a book day, and the actual Friday is a sale day…”Gobble Up The Savings.”  25% off everything.  I will save money by working in the back.  Probably lots of work, actually.  When folks come to our sales, they usually bring bags of donations with them.

“Oh, it’s been in the back of my car just waiting until I could get in,” one lady always says.  Our dear customers clean out their garage, their closets, their Holiday stuff, and happily leave it at the donation door before they shop.  That really will keep me busy and out of trouble.

Tomorrow we eat out.  The decision has been made.

Then sometime this coming weekend, all our holiday décor comes downstairs and gets sorted.  We don’t have tons of the cute stuff (like the stuff all over the shop), but we do have a massive number of ornament boxes. Big ones boxes, filled with red and blue mostly.  Far more of these than we can put on our little tree.  I, who can’t remember friend’s names, can remember each ornament every year.

I pared the collection a few years ago, and it’s time to do it again.

  • Himself:  32 year birthday dinner at Brigantine on Taco Tuesday.  It was jammed and we sat at the bar.

  • Herself:  Shopped for sheets after dinner as our green sheets are worn soft and out.  Very worried about eldest daughter…angry too.

  • 52 Week House Reorganization:  Holiday stuff.

  • Reading:  The new Francis, “Triple Crown.”

  • Gratitudes:  That I am almost recovered and G is going to live.

    1. happy thanksgiving! Yep, we trim the tree and house Sat-Sun. Not sure how many more years I want to do a full 7.5 ft. tall tree, but it does look spectacular when done. :)

    3. Sorry about the family issues. I had a rough time a while back, but it was too painful to post, so I did not. I just share my rosy side mostly. That food looks like it has enough calories to last all day!

      1. I knew you did, I cared, but I didn't know what to say. My eldest just isn't keeping her promises.

    6. Our Christmas decs are up because we celebrate TG at a sane time of year here in the Great White North. And it is white right now. And cold. Have a good American-style holiday though.
