After weeks of illness and
days of running around like a chicken with its head cut off, I took life easy
yesterday. We ate simply. I took a nap after lunch. He played hours of computer games. I took a bath. I even, with some coaching, got out of the tub.
It was a little scary
coming home from the meeting tho.
Pouring rain, and we were inside the cloud too. Seeing the headlights against the rain and
fog was an interesting juxtaposition. A
warm house and bed awaited us. We aren’t
used to that after years of living without heat.
We all need one of those easy days every now and then, Mage! Good for you.
ReplyDeleteI have never posted on this and maybe someday I would be brave enough...but I lost a high school classmate who was very, very, very, smart. His best friend spent money trying to get him straight when alcohol became his best friend. He could have been a rocket scientist or the person who found the cure for cancer. He died in the alley of Denver after drinking himself to death with his a partner (also an alcoholic) who really did not understand he was gone. I so wish he could have found that life to come home to a warm bath and bed!
ReplyDeleteThese are very important words. Perhaps you can make them into some form of poem. I have friends lost too. Hugs to you
DeleteI might have liked to try out that tub when I was having 6 baths/day just about a week ago.
ReplyDeleteCast iron will keep you warm forever, but they are hell to get out of. LOL
ReplyDeleteI missed you post to the Words For Wednesday and you did a fantastic job. Thank you for joining in and hope you will share another great one with us tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThanks Granny Annie. I may not get to the words until after work tomorrow, but I will give it a try. :)
DeleteWhat a pretty bathroom. My technique for getting out of the bath is difficult to explain but involves putting a towel on the rim of the bath and taking my weight on my left forearm, gripping a fixed handle with my right hand - a quick prayer and Bobs your Aunt Fanny.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a gorgeous bathroom. Your artistic eye is everywhere.
