FROM PAINTING TO QUILTING

The AIDS Quilt block I made for Dale.  3x6, made up of words about Dale.  The India ink drawing is quite accurate.

An article in the newspaper brought me to volunteer for the AIDS Quilt here in San Diego.   For many years, I cut out names with my very sharp, little scissors.  Both George and I helped set up displays, and I helped with the workshops.

The words are sewn on a background after they had been glued on.  The portrait was painted on white cotton and sewn to the background.

  • Himself:  Hiding from the kids on Halloween.  Work good.
  • Myself:  Taking a break from my blog for a few days. At 9 this morning, I’m having a few squamous cells taken off a shin.
  • Reading:  ”The Only Way To Cross.”
  • Gratitude’s:  Sunshine and lollypops.  George who brought me breakfast.
