A BEAUTIFUL DAY INSIDE AND OUT

A Granddaughter in the nutcracker many years ago.

The sun is out, beautiful cumulous clouds fly through the sky, and we are recovering from a weekend of being social.  We had a great weekend.

I pick through endless Holiday pictures to share something new with you every day.  Often I find just pictures of the wreath, the tree, and a grandchild or two.  Two years we took cruises down to Mexico, but, though we had fun, the images aren’t very Holidayish.  Next Christmas we will go again.  If they are shooting at each other, we won’t go ashore.  Then again, if there is warfare, I might get some great shots to share.

We discovered we weren’t saving enough money…eating out too often is one of the causes.  Except for sharing a Mexican holiday soup with our friends, I’m determined to serve more dinners here.  High protein - low cost dinners are oxymoronic, but it’s what I am aiming for.

If you all have any suggestions, I’m all ears..

  • Himself:  Gym first, now being very polite to all sorts of Adjusters.
  • Myself:  The pool was cold this morning, but I got there.  Putting Christmas stuff away.
  • Reading:  A book on Submarines.
  • Gratitude’s:  For warmth when the world is cold.

  1. They look like dolls, not real girls. Lovely picture. And, beans are cheap and good protein.

    1. Thank you, and we often shop at Ross or thrift stores. This year we did some shopping at JC Pweenneys.

  4. I'm afraid we eat out too often as well. It becomes a habit that is hard to break.

  5. You might set aside a day each week where you make larger batches of food...soups, casseroles, and freeze them for throughout the week. I have spent this month emptying the small and larger freezer to use up food that has been preserved way too long. Also you might find some quick recipes for those days when you have been out and about and are too tired to cook.
