VENTILATORS

Photo: Paul Adams Hawkins.
Subject:  Victory ships vents, or scoops.  The ships were dismantled in Long Beach in the 60's..
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

  • Himself:  Made bread instead of going to the gym.  Working hard all day.  Making boxes tonight.
  • Myself:  Spent the center of my day unloading boxes.  Lots of good biographies and hundreds of not so great novels.  And endless procession of kiddie lit too.  No where to put it all in the end.  I had given his final print of this to Laka, and I really missed it.
  • Reading:  Still Hansen.
  • Gratitude’s:  To be able to see and play with all of those books.

  1. Yes, we are supposed to get more snow this weekend, so I am getting out and running a bunch of errands and seeing eye doc tomorrow. This next snow should be far less! Unloading boxes of books? That can be work. I hope you are protecting your back. Are any of Paul's photos wanted by any historic societies or libraries in that area?

    1. I don't think so. He did more nudes than anything else.
Yes it was work, but you can find me sitting in an office chair while filling the shelves. I'm following weather.com in your area. It isn't good.

  2. He had an amazing eye for composition and B&W perspectives in a photograph, a skill you have as well. Great photo!

  4. You two have your priorities right...making bread and reading.

  5. Hum, wonder if there is a use for those rescued scoops. When I first saw the smaller version of the picture on my reading list, I thought it was a herd of elephant butts.
