THOSE PESKY APPOINTMENTS

My teeth, 1969

Yes, I still use a paper appointment book.  I see it first thing when I get up…right there in River City.  This month seems to have barely started, and the pages of the book are filled with assorted appointments.

One day we had two:  Dr. Schultz for both our knees, then at 1900 we had a convention meeting.  Many years ago I decided that my fuzzy brain couldn’t deal with more than one big thing a day.  Now days I find that more than one excitement can too easily sneak its way into our lives.

Yesterday was two appointments again, a MRI on my knee, and G visited the new “Instant Clinic” at the doctor’s office.  Today I get to go to the dentist.  My partial plate doesn’t fit right.  I have two older partials that fit perfectly but are only good to look at.  That really won’t do.  Tomorrow, Valentines Day, we go to reopened Phill’s BBQ for dinner then to La Jolla where Joan is speaking.

There were a couple of blank days last week.  Did I ever mention that I’m also, sort of taking part in “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.”  Slowly.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
  • Himself:  Full of pills and nostrums and feeling better.  At work.
  • Myself:  Need to call and make an appointment for  my wayward hair.  The Camera on Max is pointing to the floor.  Darn.
  • Photo:  1969:  Charlie David took this in Balboa Park.
  • Reading:  New book and new author.
  • Gratitude’s:  That I can make and go to appointments.

    1. I have them for almost every person at every age. You would laugh at me. Backed up twice too.

  3. Ms. Kondo has gotten to me too. Almost none of clothes give me a 'zing of joy." :-)

  4. I'm addicted to my calendar, and I leave myself notes, too. Ergo, I required more than 1x1 or 2x2, and have graduated to google's calendar. I look, every morning. In fact, I look before I turn off the computer, in case I must go somewehere, as if often must.

  6. Got my scanned 8 mm and 16 mm back today. All is on a terabyte drive and it cost a small fortune to have it done. Enough for a trip to Florida and back! They have deteriorated and they have no sound as the scanning cannot sync such a thing! I am disappointed, but at least I can watch them faded and jerky that they are. There were 12 reels, it will take hours.

    1. I am so sorry about this. Well...curl up with a hot cup of tea and a lap blanket and watch in bits. Let me know how it goes.

  7. Can so relate to your busy appointment calendar. Mine is on the wall next to me and next week, I have 3 doctor appointments. Monday, Tues and Thurs. Sigh.

  8. I have post-it's on my computer and mark the main calender that sits at the end of the breakfast counter. Robert does better at remembering at times than I do. But there are times when I'm better than he is... 1+1 often makes 2!
