I let today, let this Tuesday pass on by as if it
were Sunday. Slowly sipping my coffee,
letting dear G bring me bacon and toast, reading even more slowly while the
tree outside moved gently in the wind.
That was my morning. Eventually I
got up and took a shower.
On the actual Sunday, we drove Grumpy over to Coronado to
see the two cruise ships just off the beach and the Hotel Del Coronado.
One was actually moving when we got there and gave us a good view or
two. There's a small Navy ship out there too.
The sky was filled with black smoke
which I assured G was just a practice fire.
I’d seen this many a time. The
navy often had these fires to give the crews something to practice on. It was still going as we headed home, and I
got a shot or two of the sky filling blackly. This morning, it is still burning.
July 16: The City announced this morning that if you had trouble breathing because of the smoke, they would pass out vouchers for hotel rooms.
It is so nice to be able to get outside during this pandemic. You have such a great area to explore.
ReplyDeleteYou asked if the grand-dog we have sometimes belongs to our three grandkids. She does indeed belong to them. We have one child, a daughter who owns the three plus the dog.
Nice photos. Hope the sailors had a nice time at the fire.
ReplyDeleteIf that is the one that has been in the news, that was quite a tragic fire. Hope the one you saw was a different one.
ReplyDeleteThat was the one that was in the news.
DeleteYou get bacon in the morning? Delivered, no less?
ReplyDeleteand the fire rages on.
ReplyDeleteNice captures! The burning is not good for the air quality.
