Going Home

Richard Ebbott Caird

1926 – 2008

He wanted to go home.

  1. I am Phil from "Sandwich Scouts". Thank you for commenting on my site. I have enlarged the type in the blogs, an excellent suggestion. I haven't figured out how to enlarge the font for the badge descriptions yet. The badges are for all caregivers, regardless of race, creed or sexual orientation.

    When typing my URL;
    web.mac.com/vanphil/SandwichScouts, be sure to capitalize the S's, hopefully that will get you there.
    Thank You, Mage

  2. It's a sad day today. All my condolences to you and George. May Duck find peace and tranquility now.

  3. Thank you for sharing this loving journey that you both traveled with Duck. Peace to him, and to you.

  4. Oh my God. I can't believe it. I am so sorry , I am bawling here and I didn't even know the man, but from your stories I loved him. Thank you for sharing him with us. I am so sorry, really so sorry. I know he is at peace now.

  5. Mage,
    Enjoy your good memories of Duck. He must have been an exceptional man. Be assured you and George were exceptional caregivers.

  6. Mage, my condolences to you and G on your loss. You truly were devoted and loyal friends. We should all be so lucky to have caregivers like you. Julie/aenodia

  7. i have just now logged on to see the news about Duck. you have been wonderful to him and it has been an honor for me to be able to read about it. thank you. i, too, am deeply saddened for the loss of a man i never met. my condolences to you.

  8. I ask myself how in the world I missed this post? I feel as though I've lost an acquaintance of my own as I felt like I really knew him from your lovely posts. The only thing I know to say is that I'm so very very sorry, and I'm truly aware how meaningless those words seem. They just can't convey how I really feel, especially that I didn't know for so long. Kick kick kick! (myself) My condolences to you and G both. For your dedication and care, you both must have many "stars in your crown."

  9. Oh dear. I've been pretty much ignoring the internet this month so have just discovered Duck has gone on ahead of us. Mage, thank you for allowing us the gift of Duck. The depth of the friendship you and George shared with him is not only inspiring, it's proof positive the human race is worthy and even noble. As I write this, you and George are off on your well-deserved trip. Stay safe and enjoy every moment.

Please, take just a moment to leave me a note. I really appreciate notes.

                      I like this flag photograph a lot.   It’s an old shot, and one of my really old cranky computers reduce...
