Didn't Do A Thing

Second growth seen from the Skunk Train, Northern California, 2008….it’s green. Happy St. Paddy’s Day to you all.

Himself: Came home from work with a grin, walked by the bay with a grin, and loved dinner.

Herself: Said I did nothing at all but read. Nothing exciting on the bay this day.

Reading: Volume 3 of the Moon “Vatta” saga. Nothing like a good space opera to slow you down.

Balance: Color.

Caught my attention: Moonscape is Elizabeth Moon’s homepage.

In all actuality, I did read much of the day with spurts of do-mess-ti-city to ameliorate any symptoms of guilt.

It was in the forties when I got in the pool. Even after showering, I felt it was still in the forties. I curled up for a while to get warm, under a layer of fleece with a good space opera in my lap. Nothing like a good heroine and a wayward space adventures to get you warm from within even when your hair is still wet on the outside.

Lunch with the book brought me to the realization that no decisions had been made, nothing had been done, and the day was flying by me. In the meantime, my subconscious decided on what to do with the giant assortment of turquoises G found for the quilt border. As an artist and colorist, I have to confess that I am color blind in the blue/green range. They will make nice assorted dragon teeth bordered by more colorful strips.

My body finally got moving and put away the laundry, did chores, and got dinner all ready to cook. Microwave tiny chicken breasts six minutes a pound. Make salad, make avocado salsa….put water out for noodles too. Instant life before retreating to my book.

It’s like an addiction. I confess I finished the second book in the series after dinner. I want to know what’s going to happen next. I’m deep into the third volume now that breakfast has past. It’s a shame I can’t swim and read at the same time.
