Breaker, Breaker!

BMW Oracle’s BOR 90 sailing into San Diego Bay. The biggest trimaran in the world. July 09.

Himself: Followed along with the new régime. Plus meeting.

Herself: After hauling the sewing machine out to the shop, was told the bobbins were wound wrong and given a lesson in how to thread machine. I did feel like a fool. Created new régime. Today bringing poem about Nina Cassin's poem about artists to the gathering. Maybe I have time before class to fix the banner here too.

Reading: Random Crais…an Elvis Cole mystery.

Balance: That was what was needed.

Enough. That was it. No more himself huddling over his computer doing job searches all day and into the night. No more me worrying myself into a lump then feeling useless when I do things wrong.

Time for a break. Balance was needed.

I drug him off to the pool and now see he is as wide as I. Not good, but we were both there in the water. After the visit to the sewing store and spending the afternoon taking out scalloped red threads on the back of the red quilt, I informed him that we were off to have fun. Or else.

I whipped together a Boboli Pizza, and made an avocado and grapefruit salad….shades of the 1950’s. I gathered in that tablecloth I bought just for picnics months ago, picked up two plates that were going to the thrift store, and off we went for an hour in the sun on Shelter Island. His family never did picnics. We met with no wind and glorious sun. The bay was like glass…stirred only by the passing boats, and we luxuriated in a few silent moments.

BMW Oracle’s BOR 90 sailing into San Diego Bay, July 09. Stern view. With the race tied up in court, only two boats will be racing for the America’s Cup this year. 90 foot carbon composite Alinghi 5 catamaran has splashed down on Lake Geneva. , said Yacht Pals July 8th.

Boboli Pizza

1 Big Boboli crust
1 Chicken breast cubed in bite sized pieces
BBQ Sauce
½ cup loosly packed chopped or snipped Cilantro
1 cup grated Jack Cheese
2 Tablespoons thinly sliced bits of red onion

-------------

Preheat oven to 450 degrees, a hot oven. Put the Boboli Crust on a baking sheet, pour on just enough BBQ sauce to evenly cover the surface of the crust but not too thickly. Sprinkly on chicken, snip on Cilantro so there is an even sprinkling, add cheese, and bake 10 minutes. Slice and serve.

You can put anything that’s already cooked on a Boboli crust. Try anything you like topped with any cheese you like. Dinner in ten minutes. Add a salad.

  1. Your instincts are right on! Gotta keep having fun, it's very important at times like this. I know. Been there, done that. Some day you'll look back too, and feel stronger for the experience.

  2. I've found that over the long run anything more than 3-4 hours a day doing job searches, sending out CV is not productive. I take a specific time (e.g. 7-11) five days a week and that is that. I also make up a loose weekly schedule on Sundays and go to at least one special event (e.g. museum or library visits) a week as well. Generally, I find it necessary to live more disciplined and structured the less official work there is to be done. How is it with you?
