A Day Off

Façade of the Museum of Man designed by Goodhue in a true mixture of styles.

I’ve designated Thursdays as my day off, and I’ve truly enjoyed these days off this year.  I was a busy bee this day after I got home from the pool.  I picked up a whole grumpy load of clothes and things from a friend whose husband had died.  Then too, finishing the new will is also good.  Finishing the Medical Power of Attorney is grand, but tackling the framers was a major step.  The piece went in on the 18th of last month.  I took the time to stop by the large lady’s store to look for a white or crème shirt, and instead found a terra cotta overshirt for a buck.

Just doing little things, getting them done, is so good for the soul.

I read with my feet up for a while, and dinner was a simple bean burrito.  Good stuff for a day off.  Saturday we will both get our Durable Power of Attorney’s notarized, and the paper work will be upgraded, updated, and on the road.

The sky is just turning lavendar through the fog, and I am off to the pool for another workout.

  • Keeping those on the east coast in my thoughts.
  • Himself:  Found $5,000.00 over written on one estimate yesterday.
  • Herself:  Had a good talk with Bee and Lessa yesterday.
  • Reading:  Memoir:  “Mennonite in a little black dress”…..or something like that.
  • Balance:  Quiet time with my feet up.  Always remembering to say thank you.

    1. First, the architecture isn't my cup of tea....too busy for my taste.

Second, I am on a guilt trip. We need to updo our wills, etc.

Third, how do you manage a day off so neatly? My yesterday was a mix of telephone tag and drowzy dogs. The terrible two had their teeth cleaned. One had lumps on the gum...sent for biopsy, the other lost a tooth. Today they are sleeping it off.

    2. I thought you said tackling the "farmers." Could not figure out why they needed tackling. Hilarious!

    4. It's always good to get that will/trust/power of attorney stuff done so we don't have to worry about. Good for you!

    5. Snap! I also am doing a new will and Power of Attorney but I think things take longer over here.

    6. I read "Mennonite in a Little Black Dress" a couple years ago. I really enjoyed it, and wonder what you think.
