Je Suis Us All

Notre Dame facade, photos G, 2001.

The world mourns while we go about our mundanities
haircuts here while friends look for friends there
we buy pant hangers here….
some will never worry about pants again there
the usuals here don’t balance out the horror there
we hold our breaths.

Rose window Notre Dame, 2001.

A special memorial service will be held today at Notre Dame.

Photos taken with an early digital camera by Sony with a 1.1 megapixel lens.

  1. Yes, how do we balance out the horror?

  2. The horror is worldwide. We don't have a clue about how well we are protected in the USA. More terrorist threats have been thwarted than we will ever learn of. No country will be allowed to drop their guard again.

  3. Tough weekend. So much to ponder about what to think and do.

  4. That interior shot is good. I was not able to get a good one of the interior on my visit there several years ago. Wonder if my newer camera would do better.

  5. I took a photo of the same rose window, but yours is a thousand times better.

This is such a very, very sad time.
