Storm Beach

A singin’ and a drumin’ by the beach.

There was to be an astronomical high tide today coupled with storm surf.  I’d told the Geezer about it last night…seven thirty, I told him.  By eight thirty this morning, we were on our way down the hill in the flat out freezing cold sunny morning.

Most of the surf watchers weren’t young this morning.  Even the singer had grey hair as did an old artist friend.  It was a joy to stand by the sea wall and catch up on the news.

The surfers all were strong ocean swimmers too.  I didn’t see any of the young ones out there in the water with their new boards and wet suits just the rounder folks like us. 

We took a quick look at the cliffs before coming home.  The waves were truly crashing just below G’s feet, and over to the right the dedicated fishermen were throwing their lines out with enthusiasm into the cold sea wind.

Keeping those on the east coast in my thoughts.

Himself:  Doing well.  Happy.  Feeling human again, and I am glad.  Off to the museum today.

Herself:  Shelved books and sorted donations yesterday.  Today the beach and off to the park with G to go to the folk art museum.  It’s got to be warmer in the park.

Reading:  A not well written mystery that I’m skimming. 

Balance:  Talking with a friend who is having a hip replaced next week.  She says it is easy in comparison with getting the knee done.  The conversation gives me hope.
