1. Hot chocolate?
When I’m forced into Starbucks now, I’ll drink their Mocha with sugar. Love that stuff. Oh Mmmmmm
2. Favorite holiday dish?
Stuffing. Pie. Cake. Sugar. Can you guess the holiday. LOL
3. What is the most tasteful strangest looking thing you have ever tasted?
I cannot think of a thing. G doesn’t have an answer either.
4. Fries or tater tots?
I should eat neither. Slaw. Potatoe Salad….yes.
5. Do you like cheese? If so what kind?
None of the nasty ones that drive me out of my home with their smells, and nothing moldy as I am allergic to the mold. Everything else I love. Perhaps muenster best.
6. Home made or canned soup?
I confess that I’m not a soup person. But if I have to do soup, I’ll do both, thank you. Canned soups have improved a great deal.
7. Do you like to eat out?
Yes, yes, yes…..they cook and clean. Somehow over the years of cooking, I have lost my enthusiasm for it.
8. What kind of food is popular where you are?
Here locovore foods, Thai, pizza of all sorts are still king. Restaurants by the bay are big, then again, I live by the bay.
9. Do you like cotton candy?
I loved it when I was a kid. Not so much now.
10. Turkey or Chicken?
Chicken…especially KFC with slaw. LOL Yes, I am laughing. I love a two piece KFC with slaw and a buscuit by the bay with a good book.
11. Hamburger or tuna helper?
Neither please. I can help myself.
12. Raw or cooked veggies?
Any veggies but eggplant. More allergies. Why itch.
13. Do you like salad?
Yup, any salad. Boy that sweeps my imagination away. I’m taking Auntie Pat’s fruit salad minus the mayo to the Founder’s Day Potluck on Sunday. Hey, Thomas, Clancy is speaking. I’m doing a trial run of the salad here at home with a honey balsamic dressing.
14. Favorite pizza topping?
Everything please. Caruso’s downtown used to have a pizza where the whole center was Italian meats around a whole jar of salad olives. It was named after a famous local reporter. Oh My Gawd that was beyond good. I especially like chicken/salsa/red onion/LeDue’s BBQ sauce on a pizza, but I will eat traditional pizza’s with all the goodies too.
15. Do you like meat loaf?
Yes, and I am trying a variation on our favorite this evening using turkey. I’ll let you know if we live.
16. Ever been on a picnic in the park? If so what did you pack to eat?
The very best one was a gathering of friends for daughter Lessa’s 13th birthday that Jo put together. I cannot find a picture from that day, but it is burned in my memory.
17. Hot dogs or hamburgers?
Hamburgers. OB’s Hodad’s are the best, but ever since they made it on “Diners, Drive ins, and Dives,” one cannot get in the door. Brian’s are good, and even Denney’s are good too.
18. Pop corn or nachos?
Real nacho’s with shredded meat, guacamole, real cheese, tomatoes, and all the really good goodies like sour cream. Ah, high fat reality that I love and has made me what I am today.
19. Do you like fish?
Yes, today lunch was Point Loma Seafood’s 14 point fish sandwich that was worth ever point that led me home and to veggies for dinner.
20. Do you like baked beans?
I’m not wild about them but will eat them with a preponderance of hot dogs and sides.
More to come much later!
I love eggplant, mostly my grandmother's Romanian style. Her name for the plant translated to "blue tomato," and I do believe the plants are related. I hope you can enjoy tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteEggplant, tomatoes, and potatoes are all in the nightshade family and I have a little trouble eating them too. Love tomatoes though. Your post made me hungry. The local grown asparagus is just out and I got a pile of it. I'm going to have it with dinner and make a quiche out of it for breakfast tomorrow, yum, yum!
ReplyDeleteI have been so proud of myself for the last few days eating small portions of healthy food...now you come along...no fair.
ReplyDeleteEggplant = nirvana to me. Funny how that works.
ReplyDeleteWe share a lot of the same addictions! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I shouldn't have read this before lunch!!

Good thing I ate lunch before I read your post. I make a wicked potato salad, when I make one. Dianne
ReplyDeleteI found you through Poolie, what a great find this is. I love your stuff:) And I am so jealous I wish I was in a warm climate like you:)
ReplyDeleteWow! You and I really have the same taste in food. However, I like anchovies on my pizza. Eggplant I can do without too although my husband loves it. And salad? Yum! Honey Balsamic sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteToday is the first day that I could easily eat all day. And unfortunately, since I've read your wonderful post, I'm actually salivating!!
