Festival of Sail, 2013

Visitors to the SURPRISE.  2012.

No “Festival of Sail” for me this year.  I haven’t missed one in years, but I’m not quite ready to clamber around 20 tall ships however much I want to.  Instead, over this weekend, I will share with you some of the shots I’ve taken over the years.  Please enjoy.

Masts, lines, shrouds, and all the other bits of sailing.  2011.

”AMAZING GRACE Heading into battle.  2010.

Under the STAR OF INDIA’s bowsprit are a harbor tour boat, the EXY JOHNSON, and the USS CARL VINSON.  2012.

Bow of the USS MIDWAY, San Diego Bay, 2011.

Life is Really in the Footnotes:

  • Himself:  Did pretty good with chattering women visitors yesterday.  I so hope his bosses understand his work breaks and interruptions.  He’s starting early today then this afternoon taking me to the first doctor’s appointment.

  • Herself:  The Knox books still read good.  Ordered two omnibus volumes of 3 each Hillerman’s from Abe Books yesterday.  $7.90 total plus free shipping.  I love Abe Books.  Cancelled Mystery Guild Membership via email.  Had two wonderful visitors from the pool.  Such happy folks.  Printed out all those lists to take to new doc.

  • Reading:  A second Knox.

  • Balance:  Getting this first doc appointment out of the way.

    1. Loved the photos. I pretended I could hear the snap of the sails and the cries of the sea gulls and smell the water.

    6. Great photos of the sails. We get a few of those celebrations here and I try to go, but something always seems to come up.

    7. Catching up with you after being absent from the computer for a couple of days. I am glad you are still mending and getting bored. That can indicatae healing but also indicate you should be careful not to get so bold physically! I know you know this.

I belonged to the Mystery Guild for a few years. No longer belong to any guild. I have also purchased used books from Abe.

Love the photos, especially the 'Welcome Home' sign.
