So evocative! To me your photo of G is of him in California in 2013, but also in a way timeless, a reminder of all those who have watched the tall ships, and of the changes those tall ships brought to many countries, but particularly to yours and to mine. There's an Australian painting I've seen also showing a figure on a cliff looking out over a tall ship in a bay, but the figure is aboriginal, the place Sydney, and the time I think meant to be 1770.

ReplyDeleteHe is serious taking that tripod. I have a lovely one as a gift, but rarely carry it like I should!! Love the way the tall ships fade into the fog.
