This Hal Needham, 1977 chase film was just the right thing
for me yesterday. Mindless crashes,
splendid rushing here and there with great bangs and some pretty good music too. The film kept me amused and in bed between
swigs of Day Quill and sneezes. All the
Hollywood references and slang make sense, and the romance of the decade was on
Reynolds and Field’s faces.
Ah, the snowman rode
again in three sequels and three more television films. I just hope all those folks banked some of
the money. But it was the ‘80’s, and
they probably partied it all away.
I did.
Here take this box of kleenex and hot tea and tomorrow will be much better, I promise.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon. Not fun!
ReplyDeleteI've read Kathy Reichs, the Canadian forensic pathologist. I assume you mean her?
ReplyDeleteTake care of the cold. I was to return to the gym today, but gave up the idea. Walked the dog yesterday, first time in 1.5 weeks.

Hi Mage:
ReplyDeleteI am Don de Llamas' niece and in going online to look for some photos, I came across your blog and kind words about my uncle. My parents (Don's brother Lloyd) are hosting a memorial this Sunday (2/15/14) in San Diego and we would love to have you there, if you are available. We did not know who or how to reach out to Don's many friends from his days in San Diego other than the obituary, so seeing your blog was quite a treat. You may reach me at ingriddellamas@aol.com -Ingrid de Llamas
Poor you.. take good care of yourself and feel better soon. At least the man shares. :)
ReplyDeleteMuch better watching than some - rest up and watch more of those fun films. They also say 'Laughter is the best medicine; so pop a comedy onto your viewing liast as well :)

Have you had those really explosive sneezes?
ReplyDeleteI get scared I'll blow my insides out.
