The last time a full fledged hurricane hit San Diego was in
1858. This time the experts are predicting
Hurricane Norbert to be downgraded to a tropical storm before it reaches us.
Still, tropical storm level winds can move things
around. I’ll nail down the deck
furniture….metaphorically speaking, and move the plants to a sheltered
spot. I don’t think we need the umbrella
up either. Before we move all that around, we need to stop by the Chevy dealer. I yanked
on Grumpy’s emergency brake release yesterday, and it came off in my hand. This is the second one. I was left asking why GM engineers used plastic parts
in high stress/high use areas.
Until then, you can watch all of us San Diego bloggers on
the weather channel...she says waving.
At least we could really bitch about the weather if a hurricane hit.
ReplyDeleteDon't get blown away Mage. It's the cheap plastic parts that have given out on my van too. All in high stress places!?
ReplyDeleteI have a visit to the shoe store in my future. Baked coconut cupcakes for David today. He's 85 next week. Tried to make boiled frosting with Splenda and made a mess. Had to use sugar second time around. Now we are both sugar -laden.
ReplyDeleteHope you get the rain but not the wind...
ReplyDeleteI though cheap plastic parts went the way of obsolecense with those Japanese cars in the 1950's! I need to go shopping for rain wear for my upcoming Ireland trip...love an excuse to shop ;-). Stay safe and watch for flooding areas when driving out and about.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, Mage.. and keep us posted when you can. Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the storm, hope it poops out before it gets to shore.
ReplyDeletethe barber cut too much off good thing it will grow back soon.
ReplyDeleteBe safe. Remember, the last two hurricanes we had -- 2011 and 2012 -- were declared not hurricanes, so that hurricane insurance was not liable...
ReplyDeleteYou've seen the outside photos of what we had.
I hope you are right about the downgrading.
ReplyDeleteI hope it is spent by the time it reaches you.
