Sahara, my middle
granddaughter tells me that I need to use Thumb Drives to save stuff. I think somewhere here there are floppy
discs, and there certainly are Zip Discs in the bookcases too. For many years I’ve been saving to CD, and
now that technology is outta here also.
Not only am I hot after a
wonderful day struggling to sew, thanks to the change in the weather I feel
like I am a roasted Mage as I learn to save to my thumb drives from two hard
drives. Hot stuff indeed.
Himself: They don’t make switches that can be
turned from TV to computer and back. He
was dissapointed, but he crawled around on the floor and got my backup computer
into the network again. Busy day at the
museum with the Smithsonian crowds.
Herself: At least today I can visualize what
goes where in the quilt. I could sew
straight seams too, but I could not remember that fabric sides went
together. After taking everything apart
for the 4th time, I went back to my book.

House Reorganization:
Moving into “Office organization.” Oh my.
Reading: Just finished Chat by Major.
Gratitudes: That I have a sewing machine. That I know what a Hard Drive is. LOL
That's a lovely rose, hot stuff! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat tose is spectacular! Office organization is not. So hard. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful 'Double Delight' rose. And they smell so wonderful (hence the double delight. not just pretty, but great smell, with two colors.) Yep, I'm a rose affectionado.
ReplyDeleteand yep, super hot today and tomorrow. THEN fall weather returns. Stay cool today!
We hahve sealed up the house at 65 degrees, and we hope it stays that way for a little while.
DeleteNew computers don't even have CD drives. Thumb drives are definitely the best. OR.....external hard drive. You can get them at Costco for cheap with enough memory to last for years.
ReplyDeleteI have a 1T external hard drive and a back up external HD. What I do is try to save my yearly journals and pictures to something separate.
DeleteQuilters are a creative and courageous bunch. My cousins celebrated my stroke survival and love of hot tea with a beautiful quilt in a teacup pattern. I'm the non-quilter, non-crafter among my extended families. I'm an avid appreciater, though. Quilt on!
ReplyDeleteI certainly appreciate you.
DeleteCongrats on your quilt progress! I have a thumb drive, only, it's so tiny I've lost it so...onward.
ReplyDeleteNaps are we today... I'm sitting here drowsing and DH is on the couch -- resting his eyes after I administered the latest dose of eye drops. His eye surgery is tomorrow, which means getting up even earlier than we did today. We had Depot Duty yesterday so we were bushed last night. It's funny -- we get tired from doing absolutely nothing but talking with people. Wondering why that is...
ReplyDeleteI am in Seattle today. Practically went into hibernation this a.m. , it was so cold: now it's too hot. A walk helped. That and eating nothing but fruit!
ReplyDeleteI've been told that thumb drives don't last forever either. Sigh....
