I woke this morning with a
nightmare fresh in my mind. I had really
made a half inch error putting in the facings on my Comic Con costume. At the end of the night mare a solution came
to me.
I dearly wish I could sew
as well as this person could. Look at
this wonderful piece of creativity correctly assembled. I hope the young lady who sewed this had no
nightmares over her work. The judges and
I agreed, It’s a wonderfully sewn work of art.
I was never great at it, but never before have I irrevocably made such a
unreparable error.
Then again, I have a
picture of me in a plaid dress, and nowhere does the plaid match. Sometimes all you can do is laugh at
yourself.

- Himself: Visit Poolie. Museum today. Starts as meeting Chair on Sunday up at the big table. Normal hours Monday.
- Herself: Teapots at work so a Poolie visit is in order. I think I will visit museums today instead of struggling to correct all my fabric errors this afternoon. Will miss holding G’s hand on Sunday evenings.
- Reading: Today starting a train book, but he is awfully cynical. It doesn’t make for a comfortable read.
Never was great at sewing so I appreciate anyones efforts.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason your little epigraph always is like a fresh calming breeze to me. Why is that?
ReplyDeleteBecause it is silly and out of time? :)
DeleteVery cute picture of you. Who cares if the plaids line up. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of your younger self. The first dress is incredible, imagine having to wear it!
ReplyDeleteyour costume is going to turn out great
ReplyDeleteI used to make the children's (simple) clothing - only once attempted something for myself. Never again!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll sort yours out - can't wait to see it.
Sewing ain't what it used to be and few seem to do it, but my niece (great niece, I guess) is always sewing new clothes. It's her thing.
ReplyDeleteCan't remember the last thing I sewed that wasn't a repair. Give you credit for jumping in feet first. Cute pic.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a Louisa May Alcott dress. And I love that photo of you.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww.... So cute, Mage. I haven't sewn an outfit in........... I can't remember.
